With all the website building and hosting options out there, getting a website up for your business ought to be simple. But do you go with Squarespace? Wordpress? Wix? Something else? Unless you know tech (and tbh, even if you do), it’s confusing and difficult to know what you need and make that choice.
Ehi Aimiuwu has made a positive impact by first believing in herself. After walking away from the traditional work setting, she has successfully developed her own path to success, through Geek Empowered and her podcast, Code Burnout, which is dedicated to helping those in the tech and entrepreneurial space who suffer from stress and other mental health issues. Ehi’s passion for technology has allowed her to be a source of support for other brave women and mothers blazing new trails on the road to entrepreneurship.
Ehi is steadfast, skilled, and exudes a genuine kindness that is often absent or overshadowed by the competitive spirit many people bring to the table. Her story is one of bravery, determination, and perseverance. Despite homelessness and losing her father, Ehi has continued to find ways to use her gifts to serve others. She has offered her voice as a panelist for icStars, Chi Hacknight, and most recently the 2018 Black Women’s Expo.
After receiving 180 applications, Ehi was selected as a semi-finalist for the 5th Annual South Side Pitch. The work that Ehi has set out to do in tech allows many small, woman-owned businesses to expand and stay afloat. Her expertise and compassion for women, mothers, and entrepreneurs is an inspiration and her plan to address mental health in the tech industry is necessary and an area we as African-Americans often overlook. Her voice will undoubtedly provide guidance and inspiration who need to know that they are not alone and renewal is possible
